OXE remote maintance
OXE remote maintance
I have troubles with OXE (crystal) remote maintance with internal RMA mosem. Single CPU without RMA board. I try to connect modem to A and B ports on RMA box, but have no success. Modem connects successfully, but I receive no responce from PBX.
What is the problem? Modem setup or CPU port?

Re: OXE remote maintance
what happens when you connect directly to posts A or B? everything ok?
What happens when you connect modem to laptop (instead of OXE). Running terminal or other terminal emulator program, can someone dial in and have a chat?
If both of those are ok - there is problem with cable between modem & OXE maybe!

Re: OXE remote maintance
Both ports on OXE are functunal. Modem also is OK. I use the cable supplied with modem and DB9-DB25 convertor. I don't understand anything.

OK Urri - don;t punish yourself just yet...Urri wrote: I don't understand anything.

For the hell of it, can you try a null adaptor between the modem and the OXE port?
Re: OXE remote maintance
Of course! But have the same result!
Tomorrow will try again.

Re: OXE remote maintance
I did once have a similar issue and was that the modem somehow got desconfigured, an OXE guy connected to it and put many AT commands and worked...for a month when it died completely

Ignorance is not the problem, the problem is the one who doesn't want to learn

Thanks for keeping us updated Urri. However, this is not a surprise for us. Your action is the unofficial fix given for a great many number of problems on the OXE. That one task clears more problems than any other possible solutions for any other problemsUrri wrote:Surprise!![]()

Re: OXE remote maintance
Be carefull for modem directly connected on CPU port (console port).
You MUST configure the modem to NOT reply for any message from the port.
In other case you can stop the reboot of your CPU (100% this CPU5/6, many risk with CPU7) but the modem return ENTER with ERROR message... and the CPU can stop the boot and display the bios configuration...
Don't forget to save the configuration in the register.
