Hello guys,
We have four 4059EE at customers site with USB Keyboard from ALU. Sometimes keyboard stops working, no input comes to any application, nor to windows. Mouse is still working fine. No error message in any application, no abcacom errors in OXE. Only way to continue working is to reboot PC, sometimes unplugg USB Keyboard and plug again helps.
PC's run Win7 64bit, 4059EE is R1.4.0.3. In changelog is new Keyboard driver 1.0.3.55 written. After new Installation of 4059, drüber is still 1.0.2.52. Is it only for Win8?
Anyone with similar problems?
Regards LT

Re: 4059EE Keyboard stops working
USB ports are what version? Maybe the motherboard by some reason reduces energy on them.
Re: 4059EE Keyboard stops working
USB ports are not USB 3.0. Will check and disable energy saving options on PC.
Anyone installed R1.4.03 and keyboard driver version is 1.0.3.55 on Win7?

I don't understand your answer cavagnaro.
Is it a driver issue?
Have someone the latest driver for the 4059EE Keyboard for x64 Win 7 ?
Thanks

Re: 4059EE Keyboard stops working
I said to verify USB ports versions, he said they didn't use USB3 which is needed due power options. Then he didn't reply anymore, guessing he tested with USB3 and worked.

Hello Cavagnaro,
We had to replace the PC, new PC only has USB3.0.
But where did you find that USB3.0 is mandatory for Alcatel-Lucent keyboard?
Reading docs and TechComms is daily business, I did not find this requirement.

Re: 4059EE Keyboard stops working
Can't remember actually neither. Guess was more like a "logical" conclusion as per HW requirements. The power that USB ports provides and similar errors everywhere couldn't be software or OS everytime...so logic says HW, and considering the known bugs of low costs USB 2.0 bus these days would make sense that USB 3.0 even cheap ones will provide more energy.
That is why ALU always went for a HW well know like Dell I think before, because of the stability and quality of components. You don't see those problems on high branded PCs normally.
