GAP compatible DECT-Phones and lost connection?
Did anyone expirienced this:
In one Client-OXO-Setup many DECT Mobiles seems suddenly to have sometimes to have no connection to the IBS while an Alcatel Mobile Reflexes 200 does. Three years all went fine, but now they sometimes suck for a few seconds without any (known) reason.
We use Siemens/Gigaset DECT/GAP-Handsets in various installations but never had such problems with them. Maybe that all thirteen handsets have radio problems, but that's not probable...

yes they do!
Yes they are and not only at this location. You have to change GAP-Profile to "enhanced" (for hold/transfer functionality) but we had never such issues which Gigaset-Handsets but with one Mobile Reflexes 200 at another installation. That specific problem was solved by change of one IBS which was running wild after a while. But in the actual case there are no roaming/interconnection problems visible at monitoring mode of the Mobile Reflexes.Konstantinos.E wrote:i have never seen siemens dect working on alcatel ibs.
r u sure u connected before siemens dect on 4070 ibs?
I would prefer this too but it's not easy to aver the type of handset as source of the problems. It has worked for three years fine. Nothing has changed since them (they have OXO Release 4.10 something).Konstantinos.E wrote:if u done this why we bather to buy mobile reflexes???
BTW: the Alcatel handsets costs the fourth of the Gigasets and bring effectivly only phonebook an mailbox features to the client (and he don't us this).

DECT/GAP-Registration
Konstantinos.E wrote:That is cool.i i didnt knew that.I will try it to the lab but i fave a few questions.
1)The gap reg is the same with reflexes?
2)The gap profile is located inside siemens gigaset settings?
i am trying to find smthg in the omc but i cant.
thanks
1) yes, of course
2) no, you have to change this while registration is done in OMC. If you select the the user (left) and the (new) handsets IPUI-N (right field in OMC-registration-window) you see normally "GAP Basic-Mode" and now you should click the "Change Modus"-Button on the right. This is all described in chapter 5.1 of the OXO Expertdoku... (5.1 DECT and 5.1.1.4.1 Configuration)
3) OMC->Users/Stations->GAP Reg. - same as usually...
Try it! Maybe there is a second tricky thing to do. I remember that you can configure what key on the handset is used for transfer/hold and some other actions. But I don't remember if this is necessary or where it was done...

Re: GAP compatible DECT-Phones and lost connection?
We have the same problems at a customer with 4 OXO's and over 100 Gigaset Handsets.
With Gigaset SL1,SL55,SL56 we had no problems, but since we take the newer SL37H, we have only with some handsets sometimes the problems of no incomming calls, connection fails for a few seconds and outgoing calls work sometimes only after a second try.
We swaped 4 of the SL37H Handsets against the new SL400H and it seems that the SL400H works fine. Since now we had no error report from our customer.

Re: GAP compatible DECT-Phones and lost connection?
Hello!
I have similiar problems with my Siemens Gigasets working in my Alcatel OmniPCX IBS system. Today I was trying to worki with A580 model and I must admit, that this is the worst case I've ever have. More than half of tries to make a connection ends in losing connection to IBS.
Does anyone know which Gigasets work fine? I mean different than SL400H? Or maybe DECT telephones from another manufacturer work better than Gigasets?
It's very annoying to me, because buying new Gigaset is somehow a lottery - will it work or will not? Many years ago I was using 4019 Classics (basic mode) and Comforts (enhanced mode) absolutely without problems.
Please give me advice.

Re: GAP compatible DECT-Phones and lost connection?
Hello, seems we have the same problem. We have detected problems with Gigaset E490 GAP phones on OXO systems. No incoming calls possible, set frozen. If you put out the batteries and switch it on again everythiing is OK for some time. Or if you unusign and sign in again through GAP registration. But what is the solution??? Did anyone contact Gigaset support? Or is it possible to upgrade firmware on theese phones and how to do it? Please help. Thanks.
