Can't install release on IBM appliance

Post by Elandryl »

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue during the installation of an OXE on a IBM x3250 appliance.
It's a new server from IBM, never used before.

When the server start i put the boot from the network interface.
DHCP with pcinstaller work and then the server try to get the startup.txt file from my computer.
But it stay on this action for i don't know approximatively an hour.

So i retry and i take a capture with wireshark during the "installation".
I found a packet from the server who tell me : error code, code not defined.

I check every things who can block transfert, nothing can ... no firewall or other softs..
I try with an R9.0 / R8.0.1 / R8.0 and it all time the same !

I try to install on an inactive partition and all was OK.

I join a capture of my pcinstaller but it's not so usefull and the wireshark capture.

Thanks for reading me.

Edit : The extension pcap is not allowed.
I don't know if i can rename it on .txt to add it on the post ?

Hi,

Did you try to select Appliance Server on the Call Server Type tab ?

Hi everyone.

With Alcatel i found what is wrong.
As i excpeted it's some value to change into the BIOS of the appliance ....

You have to load default settings and change this value :
Configuration/SetUp Utility --> Devices and I/O Ports --> Parallel
ATA = Disabled

If the CPU support hyperthreading enable it too :
Configuration/SetUp Utility --> Advanced Setup --> Advanced Processor
Options --> Hyper Threading Technology = Disabled

Then save and exit setup.

For x306 server some BIOS are supported : 1.24, 1.31,
1.32 et 1.34.

Other not.

I put in attachment the TC0675 but i only have it in french.
I assume that is possible to find it into the pbws.

thanks for your help.
