Visual Messenger: Error reading file Prodver.txt

Visual Messenger: Error reading file Prodver.txt

I had a trouble at a customer site. Each time they would lunch the visual messenger on the local computer (client), an error message would popup and said

Automatic Update: Error reading file Prodver.txt
CFileException = 1


The first thing I tried was to copy the file from the server to the local client. It worked, but then the next day the error would come back. I finally found the solution today: When I tried to get to the server, it would ask me for a login and password (because the server was not a domain member).. So I asked the SysAdmin to change the rights on the folder, so everybody could get to it without login and password, and it worked...

Stupid stuff, but drove me crazy for a couple of days :-)
