4038 and selective forwarding from multiline extensions

Post by andi »

Hi,

I am currently having a problem with a multiline phone that is used as endpoint for incoming support calls.

We would need that only one of the numbers assigned to the phone is forwarded to a GSM mobile but I dont get that managed :) In the forwarding menu I see the primary and secondary line but I cand only forward the second line, which is my goal. I can remember that a salesguy from Alcatel said that it is possible to forward only one of the multiline extensions but I cant find a doc about that.

So my question, can someone provide me a doc or give me a hint how to forward only one extension of a multilnie set?

Thanks for your help!

Andi

PS.: I am using OXE 7.2 and Omnivista 4.1 to do the config

Well, it depends on how your programming it.

If you use just multi-line, meaning same extension, just multiple lines, then all lines have same forward.

If you use MLA for secondary extension, then same problem, the MLA follows the primary extension forwarding.

What I would do is create a ghost extension, supervise this on your extension and change the forwarding for the ghost extension. You can use either an analog ghost z or a virtual UA (4035). Depends if you need one line, or multi-line on the phantom number.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

thanks for your answer but I think that doesnt helps me further.

Our problem is that we have two hotline numbers that drop into a hunting group and in the night the incoming calls should be seperated by the dialed extension and then they should be forwarded to two different GSMs. The day/night thing is done via entity settings, but our problem is that on holidays the incoming calls would fall back into the hunting group during the day where nobody is, because of the holidays. Now I was thinking about an iptouch phone with 2 buttons programmed one "forward hotline a" and one "forward hotline b" and if these forwardings are active the incoming calls for hotline a should be forwarded to gsm a and the calls for hotline b should be forwarded to gsm b.

I hope you understand me, I know we have a complex constellation here and thats why I want to solve it by myself, our Alcatel partner would talk at least half a day to configure that. :)

Thanks

Hi. I don´t understand very well your situation. Perhaps this can help you: a set is multi-line when you have more than one line declare on it. If one of the line (or many) has the same number as the set number, this is called the primary line. If you have an other line (or many) with a number different from the set number, this is called sencodary line.
There are two other things that can help for selective filtering: speed dialled by range and Called Filtering Feature. I suggest you to study this (for Sytem Doc) and perhaps you can get a solution.
Regards.

Because you mentioned public holidays, the real only solution is via calender on CCS, you can control not only night and day but also special days...

Another solution..

Create 2 UA Virtual with your phone numbers hotline AAAA and BBBB

On your desk phone, you can create a set supervision key for AAAA and BBBB.
Anytime those extension ring, your phone will ring. When you pickup the call, it switches to one of your own lines, and free the UA virtual.

or

Create the UA Virtual with MLA PRIMARY numbers, and your phone, and any other phone who needs those number would use MLA SECONDARY. This way, anytime your virtual rings, your phone will ring too.. But when you pickup, you use one of the UA line. It's your call, depend on what you really need..

In any case, on your phone, create a set substitution key for AAAA and BBBB, with immediate forward to whatever number you want, and create another key to cancel the forward.

In the USA, set substitution is reached with *76 then it ask you for the extension number you want to be, the code, and you will hear a new dial tone.. Dial the immediate forward *60 and then your number... Same kind of thing (but using *64 to cancel the forward.

*76AAAA0000*609xxxxxxxxxx
*76AAAA0000*64

And you're done !
