New UNP Classification rules require device to be unplugged/plugged back before working

Post by srseeley »

We are in the process of replacing some of our older OS6850/E with OS6860E switches.

We used to set ports for Vlan mobility and add Mac address VLAN rules.
This feature appears to have been removed on the OS6860E switches.

We now use UNP Classification Mac-address rules.
This provides very similar functionality with 1 exception.
When a new Mac-address Classification rule is added the matching device will not join the desired Vlan
until after the cable has been un-plugged and plugged back in. The port just remains in Vlan 1.
Using the older VLan rules on the 6850's, the device would immediately join the desired Vlan.

It works fine going the other way around, ie.
if we remove a given Mac-address Classification rule the affected device immediately is removed from the Vlan.

I have just updated the switch OS to 8.8.152.R01 as still no luck.
Is there something I am missing? Is this just the nature of the UNP engine?

Thanks for any suggestion you might have.

where is the probleme? Normaly I make my configurations at the switches and later the end-devices will come up und fall in the correct profiles.
Do you need to change the rules all the time during the normal working hours? If yes than you need to add a flush-command or one with a port-bounce.
