Initial setup

Post by benami »

Hi,

I bought a new OminPCX Small PBX on eBay. According to the DVD that came with it, the version is 9.2, however, it is brand new and never been used.
I successfully connected to the console using a serial cable, however, I do not know what is the user name and password.

Where can I find the default ones?
I guess that after I manage to login I will need to set up the IP address and then be able to configure it using the OMC application. Is that a fair assumption? If so, what is the command to set the networking?

Sorry for the newbie questions: I do not have any OmniPCX experience, however,I have many years of experience configuring Avaya and Cisco PBXs.

Tnx

Eventually, I've managed to use OMC to connect to the PBX and even managed to upgrade the firmware to 10.3, however, I still can not log in into the console.
1. What username can be used to log in into the console?
2. I very much prefer to use Telnet/SSH to configure the PBX. Is there a way to enable Telnet/SSH for configuration?

There is no console for config, only the omc. As for the upgrade, do you have a license for this release? If not go back to R9, or your system will not work. And R10 is pretty old, you won´t get any updates for this, or new functions.

Thanks.
What type of configuration can be done using the console?
After the boot sequence, I get a prompt for username and password. Which username is relevant for the console login?
