Analogue set with Clip on Z will ring after going on hook

Post by freedom »

I have a problem at a customer site.
They use analogue set with CLIP (CLIP on Z license).
The CLIP is shown as it is supposed to, but there is something else.
As soon as the set goes on hook, the set will ring once.

Even if you don't receive a call and just go off-hook and on-hook again, the set will ring.
We use CLIP mode "between two rings" ans ASCI mode.

The pabx is in release 8.0, but we have the same on a R7,1 labsystem.
Also the make of the set doesn't matter. Tried several differnt type of sets.
Suggestions?

Try using different types of "CLIP modes". test them on your lab until you get the one supported by your phones.

You can try "After a dual tone signal" in the board parameters.

Or read the text below.
I had the same problem and found no general solution.

R&D said:
a) shelf-board-eZ32- CLIP- between two ringing burst.
b) dynamic init parameters of eZ32, modify the parameters 283 as 1( default value is 255)
c) change the timers 319 and 320 value to 2.
d) reset the coupler.

Then R&D said:
In order to cancel unexpected ring after end of conversation , find some suggestions below :
mgr-shelf-board ( select SLI position)
Set "send_init Dynamic message" = TRUE
Set " Default Parameters " = FALSE

mgr-shelf-board-Dynamic init Parameters
select option "all instances " => you get a
list of 150 parameters ( 0---> 149 )

You are going to write a sequence containing several consecutive
bytes Pn ,Pn+1,Pn+2,.......
You can start from Parameter =P20,P21,....... for example but
make sure that previously they were not already used
for other reason.
Their normal default value=255
Do not leave any gap between these bytes ,
consecutive is mandatory.
Two Attempts can be programed =>
Either first one with 4 bytes:
Pn=2,Pn+1=0,Pn+2=23,Pn+3=1

Or second one with 8 bytes :
Pn=2,Pn+1=0,Pn+2=15,Pn+3=0,Pn+4=2,Pn+5=0
Pn+6=23,Pn+7=1

Don't forget to validate the modification with rstcpl command

And then R&D said:

Temporis 45 on MIX448 board
***************************

- The short ring after on-hook can be "removed" by changing "Dynamic Init"
parameters :
* setting parameter 2, 3, 4 and 5 to 2, 0, 23, 8 => this will set the
short ring alerting signal to 80 ms
OR
* setting parameter 2 to 9 to 2, 0, 22, 1, 2, 0, 14, 1 => this will set
the board in Bellcore mode and then disable the alerting signal.

Remember that Dynamic Init Parameters are always per board => all the
sets connected to the modified board are concerned by the new settings.

- The clip tone in the handset when hanging up is an already corrected
RA (XTSce81608) but not yet reported.

Temporis 500 on MIX448 board
****************************

- The short ring after on-hook can be "removed" by changing "Dynamic Init"
parameters => same as for Temporis 45.

As we don't have a Temporis 500 we can only make suppositions.

- After a dual tone signal there is no clip detection, maybe this can help
:
Setting Dynamic Init Param 2, 3, 4 and 5 to 2, 0, 24, 1
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 10ms
If it doesn't work try : 2, 3, 4 and 5 to 2, 0, 24, 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 0ms
If it doesn't work try : 2, 3, 4 and 5 to 2, 0, 29, 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to minimal level.

- Display always showing "Busy" and the set doesn't ring, is unknown.
Maybe 1 of the 3 previous Dynamic Init Param setting will help.

Temporis 500 on z32 board
*************************

As we don't have a Temporis 500 we can only make suppositions.

- After a dual tone signal there is no clip detection, maybe this can help
:
Setting Dynamic Init Param 294 to 1
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 10ms
If it doesn't work try : param 294 to 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 0ms
If it doesn't work try : param 299 to 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to minimal level.

But maybe the set is not forseen at all to detect clip after a dual
tone signal ?

Polycom on MIX448 board

=> same remarks as for the Temporis 45

Polycom on z32 board
********************

As we don't have a Polycom SoundStation2 we can only make suppositions.

- After a short ringing tone there is not always clip detection.
The ring alerting signal is maybe too short :
Setting Dynamic Init Param 293 to 35 or maybe 40
=> this will set the ring alerting signal to 350ms up to 400ms

- After a dual tone signal there is no clip detection, maybe this can
help (same as for the MIX448 board) :
Setting Dynamic Init Param 294 to 1
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 10ms
If it doesn't work try : param 294 to 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to 0ms
If it doesn't work try : param 299 to 0
=> this will set the dual tone alerting signal to minimal level.

Re: Analogue set with Clip on Z will ring after going on hook

After several hours on the phone with R&D we got the following solution:

For the involved SLI:
Shelf - Board - SLI position
Send Init Dynamic Msg = TRUE
Param By Default = FALSE
In the go down menu - Dynamic Init Parameter set following parameter:
P20 = 2
P21 = 0
P22 = 15
P23 = 0
P24 = 2
P25 = 0
P26 =22
P27 = 1
Then reset the board.
