Saving Config

Hello,

I have a stacked pair of O6850 switches that I need to update the IP address on... I've logged in, changed the IP and the static route 0.0.0.0 and I've done 'write memory' but when I power down the switches and reboot, everything is lost. Can someone walk me through the steps to actually save the running config to the starting config?
