Hello,
I am a real newbie to this 4635VM. I have had only one class, 4635VM expert with no prior training, even on PCX side and I have new users to a 4635VM system asking me about VM features. I have the Alcatel OmniMessage Participant guide that I got in class and handouts, but they are not so much on a user level. I need to know if I can set up a feature I know as "OUTCALLING" ( I am an old admin. of AVAYA pbx/audix VM systems)for end users on a 4635VM system. New users are wanting to know if they can set up their 4635VM box to page them or call a cell phone when someone leaves them a new message. I would think it needs to be done 1st in a Class of Service, then admin. on the users mailbox. Also the users have pin # for for their pages and I would think you would need to set up pauses. etc. on their VM acoount. Can anyone step me thru this if this feature exists? Also is there some web link where one might go to find out user features about a 4635VM systems and/or quick referennce quides that end users of this system could get there hands on?

Re: 4635VM feature question
Yes this can be done, although I have only ever used the outcalling to call a user on cellphone or home phone.
You are also right that you have to allow 'outcalling' feature in user mailbox class of service. Then you must also log in to mailbox as mailbox user and set up outcalling parameters, e.g. time of day, day of week, number to dial. For number of re-tries, you need to look at installation set up of 4635 voicemail.

Re: 4635VM feature question
If you are outcalling to a pager, you must setup the dialing sequences on the 4635.
Here are some sample dialing sequences, they depend completely on the pager in use:
Pager Dialing Sequences:
1: APP5555555555#D
2: HP5555555555#D
The APP and HP are waiting commands, A=answer, P=pause and H=high pitch (i think)
Whether calling a pager or cell phone, the outcalling parameters must be managed in the 4635vm and the outcall notification must be setup under the user vmail box.
Hope this helps.

Re: 4635VM feature question
OK I am having trouble getting the outcalling to work. I know that the class of service allows outcalling and when I dial into my test mailbox I have the options to turn on/off outcalling, time of day, message type, etc. I set it up for all new messages, but when I leave a new message in this test mailbox, I never get the outcall to either my pager or just a different office phone. I have tried setting it up to outcall an extension on the same pcx/4635vm system, a local number and a long distance number and I never receive the outcall. When I try to set it up to my pager 800759XXXX, I never get the page. I have set up my PIN number in the Pager dialing seq. # in menu 5 and that still doesn't work. I think I am still misssing something here. Also the site that is asking where this can be done is a large site of 500 users or more and there are a least 150 users that have the same toll pager number but each have a different pin number and still some that have this with press 1 for alpha page 2 for numeric page. If there are only 12 pager dialing seq. numbers available, how can this be set up for 150 + users that have different PIN #'s.

Re: 4635VM feature question
Check your dialing parameters, they should look similar to this:
"Recall" On-hook Time: 270 milliseconds
"Pause" Time: 1000 milliseconds
Wait for second dial tone (France system only): 0 seconds
Block Automated Operator Transfer: , , , .
Dialing Sequence to Transfer a Call: N
Dialing Sequence to Reconnect with a Call -
Ring/No Answer: R
Busy: R
Dialing Sequence for On-PBX Calls (if VPMOD is on a PBX): N
Dialing Sequence for Local Calls: 9N
Dialing Sequence for Long-distance Calls: 91N
Dialing Sequence for AMIS International Calls: 000N
Dialing Sequence for Private Network Calls: N
I think you can setup this up without the 9 then users dont have to enter it with their outcall number.
10-digit Calls Require Dialing a "1" (Y/N): Y
Number of Digits to Dial for...
Local Calls: 1 - 7 Digits
Toll Calls in Local Area Code: 2 - 10 Digits
If you are using a pager, you must specify a pager dialing sequence under the user, otherwise use the option no paging for a cell phone.

To answer your last question, I don't think you will be able to enter different pin numbers with 1 dialing sequence. You would have to have a different dialing sequence for each pin number. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 4635VM feature question
For voicemail notification, by the way, the dialing sequence should use a PROFESSIONAL TRUNK GROUP SEIZURE. ARS DOES NOT WORK !
