Telnet commands in series 8 phones

Post by pavopollo »

Hello,

I'm playing around with some series 8 IP phones through telnet, but I was not able to find a whole list of commands and their meaning apart from the cryptic help command output.

I was wondering what kind of things I can do once I gain telnet access. Are there any hidden commands?

I'm trying to protect our network for a future hacking challenge :), so I would like to know all kind of naughty things that can be done. I already discovered the "key sim" feature, which is allowing me to dial from the telnet menu so far..

Thanks!

Hack? Impossible. Those commands are only available when enabling them on OXE first and then for a period of time only.
Check documentation, commands are there. There are a TC for IPTouch troubleshooting.
Protect OXE is the most important part.

I'm on R11 and in the documentation I can find the IP phones menu under System Documentation / IP-PCX Networks / IP-Phones and then the maintenance chapter is there. It only mentions the way of activating the telnet access, but I cannot get anything about the commands once the telnet session has been established.

Can you point me in the right direction for the documentation? I have tried but the commands seems not to be there.
