IP touch 4028 no tftp response

Post by gzarini »

Hi, i have a question and i would like you to help me.
i would like to know how alcatel ip phone handles tagged and untagged frames.
I have a cisco small business sg200-26 switch which doesn't work with this phone.
I have created a vlan for voice (vlan 200), that connects to my router (cisco 800).
Traffic for data goes into native vlan (1).
I know how cisco ip phone works. Traffic for voice goes tagged between switch and phone, and traffic for acces vlan (in this case vlan 1), goes untagged from pc-phone-switch (which tags the frame), and that traffic between switch and pc goes tagged from switch-phone -pc.
Now with alcatel phone i cannot get working, i tell you what i did.
i configured port fe0/10 as general port with vlan 200 tagged and vlan 1 untagged, pvid for vlan 1, with this configuration pc works, but phone says no tftp response.
later i configured fe0/10 as general port with vlan 200 tagged and vlan 1 untagged, pvid for vlan 200, now phone works, but pc cannot connect to lan.
when i looked into the mac address list, i saw that when i tried with pvid 1, swith learned both mac's by vlan 1, and when i did with vlan 200, it did by vlan 200, which made me think that maybe the phone wasn't tagging frames.
I looked into the ip configuration on the phone and set up vlan 200 as vlan id, but when i restart the phone, it went back to vlan 1.
Now i have port 26 connecting other switch with fiber and ip phone works and pc too, with the same configuration as port fe0/10.

I would appreciate any help.

PD: i'm learning english, so sorry if maybe you didn't understand.

Hi everyone, i've inally solved the problem.
I had to disable lldp protocol, and everything works, with port fe0/10 as trunk, with native vlan untagged.
I would like you explain me wthat this protocol do.
thanks.

i'm thinking this looks like the phone gets an vlan id information by lldp-med protocol from the switchport.
on phone side - take a look in the phone config. there is a sub menu for lldp-med. there you can switch the feature off.
or take a look in the switch config...
