SLI problem

Post by MartinB »

Hi guys

I upgraded an OXE Common hardware (CS) from 8.0.1 to rel 11.0 (K140030f). Loaded the new release on second partition. Copied database across. Did translation. Loaded the new OPS and started up the system.
All the IP phones and digital phones started up. IP phones downloaded new binaries. and the whole upgrade went smoothly. IP and digital phones work.
All the cards on all the shelves came into service BUT...no analog extensions are working. The card shows in service but when I plug analog phone into one of the ports on any sli card on any shelf it is just dead.

I rolled back the system eventually.

I then Came to the office and loaded a cs with same software and client's .swk file. and the SLI cards all work fine in my lab system with same software.
Why do they not work on site? :(

thank you
regards
Martin

What kind of analog boards do you have (eZ or Z boards)?
Did you checked the R11 license received from ALU? If you have eZ boards you also need the analog extension licenses..

You have on your lab the same ammount of analog phones?
Try to load the software and unplug all SLI boards and connect one by one. If at a point you begin to experience problems, check your power supply and load. skip that board and plug another. Same effect?

Hi Tot3nkopf , they are sli 16-1 and sli 8-1 cards on common platform.

No Cavagnaro I only have a 4 x SLI 16 cards in my lab system. the client system is equipped and licensed for 370 Analogs. It is a Hotel. So the problem I have is I don't have a lot of time to keep them offline as there is no "after hours" at hotels. But I will try schedule with client for an hour or 2 to keep them offline while I test.
On release 8.0.1 the system works perfectly. And on new release the cards come into service just not the extensions. Digital and IP works fine. And I checked the licenses, they are all there.
I will remove all analogue cards and load latest binaries and start them up one by one.

thank you

Again: Did you checked the R11 license received from ALU? Analog licenses present in R11 license?

Strange...I would suggest first to delete and recreate one board. For the users you can use export and import in OV.
Run also checkdb and see if there are problems with the migrated database.

In lab - you install R11 to the empty HD (or like on site - to inactive partition)?
Try to install R11 with new HD, load database, load new OPS files (translation will start automatically).

Hi Vad.

Yes I loaded lab system with ampty harddrive.
Tomorrow I have scheduled some downtime at the client. Will load the second CPU with Rel 11 and dump OPS and start it up as main CPU and see if that makes a difference. If that works I will do Mastercopy and netadmin for twin CPU's.

thank you for all the info so far guys
