Radius Non-supplicant

Post by hugorosa »

Hello,
i have freeradius as radius, and work nice with omniswitch 6400 and 6450.
802.1x work great, my problem is with non-supplicant hosts..... I explain :
i have mac address authentication, in windows 7 work great, in linux ( ubuntu desktop ) or windows xp, work ( i can see with "show 802.1x non-supplicants" the dynamic vlan is assigned to port ) but win xp and linuc can´t gest IP address....

Someone have the same problem ?

Thanks.

I must admit i have not done any 802.1x with freeradius outside my lab.

What code do you use?
What config do you use?

What do you see under
show aaa-device all-users
and/or
show 802.1x non-supplicant

If they are listed there with correct vlan/unp it should at least from radius side be ok.
Does it work when you give the clients a static ip (to be sure it is dhcp error, not 802.1x?

Where is your DHCP? directly in the same vlan? ip helper? forward delay 0? do you see packets incoming to dhcp (wireshark?)

Otherwise i can not really help you as i am not using freeradius (and i switched to win7 sometime ago, but i am pretty sure it should work ;-) )

Thanks for help.
with mac-auth config and with a pc ( windows 7 ) all work great.
the same config, just unplug pc with win 7 host and plugg a pc with win xp, i can authenticate in radius, the switch put the port in correct vlan, the xp doesn´t get IP. If i put static ip , i can´t communicate.
why with win7 works and with windows xp dont ?
my problem is that, all ok with radius and omniswitch, my problem is windows xp and linux desktop clients.

Thanks

I can't help you in this case.
I have not heared from anything like that and have no XP maschine ready/no 802.1x lab atm.

Further showing some configs/some outputs may lead to more insights..

Try again with a reduced lab setup and open a ticket when this still fails.
