Connecting a door buzzer/lock/DTMF system

Post by cbowser814 »

Ok, so this might be pushing the limit here. I've gotten some really great help from you guys so far (vad). What I've got is a call button. I've given it an extension and set up set supervision and attached it to an SLI8-2 board. When I push the button outside I get a dial tone but it doesn't alert the supervising set. When a person pushes the button that I have the supervision set up on it allows for a two way intercom, which is what I want. As far as the wiring goes, the initial signal comes down to a punch-down block. The signal is then split so that it goes to my phone system and also to a relay that is listening for DTMF tones to unlock the door. It almost seems like either I need to be able to have the button autodial the extension or I've gotten something backwards.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You just need to configure routing at off hook to the phone that must open the door:
-> call button pressed = off hook of the analog extension --> routing at off hook triggered --> phone designated to answer/open door is rang --> predefined key with dtmf digits pressed --> door opens

Sorry I took so long to get back. I finally found the phone COS that I want and I set it to route and off-hook but I don't know how to designate the phone to answer, unless it's just the extension.
