Upgrade from co cpu to PowerCpu

Post by kamikazebingo »

Hi,
I am doing an upgrade this week from version 6 to version 8 but the CPU is changing from a co-cpu to a PowerCpu. They have ip phones so the voip dsp is embedded on this new card, vm is on a flash card and not a hd. But I think when I go to upgrade then try to put the db back in it is going to throw a fit and say that cpu cards don't match. Is there anyway around this or does it need programming from scratch?

thanks

There won't be any issues as long as you are using latest OMC, have done a few with no problems.

Hi

When you talked about COCPU, were you talking about master CPU (slot 0)? There's no COCPU at R8. R8 has VoIP 16 ombedded on pwCPU and if you need to increase you use an ARMADA daughter board. If you have a CPU4, CPU3m... you just need to save the database with the latest OMC. Don't forget to disable labelled addresses from advanced.
