Alcatel cards

Post by GANESHKARGETI »

Hi Folks,
I have just signup hereto upgrade my skills on Alcatel,I m working with a comapnay & we are using alcatel 4400 omnivista.
I want to know the function of some cards along with some deep technical insight on some topics.

1.Purpose of using SPA 3 card
2.INT IPA card & TNLO card purpose

TOPOLOGY

We are using UA 32 & eUA 32 cards to provide extension to users, one main unit it kept in one building with CPU 6 refers as PBX 1&
A remote unit is kept in another building which is connected over fibre through INTOF cards.

We have another PBX refers as PBX 2which is CPU 7 kept in the third building & connected with the Other Main PBX,Issue is that many extension which are created in the PBX1 are not reachable by the user who resides on the PBx2,we are creating network number under translator in the PBX2 from where the user is not able to reach the other extension & then its reachable.

IS there any thing which can be done to find out which extension are not in sync between PBX1 & PBX2

Second Topic is:

I want to know that how a call is processed(Routed ) by the CPU whenever a user dial an internal extesion & a PSTN number in details.

Many thanks for your help.

Alcatel 4400 - PBX
OmniVista - management and accounting SW.
SPA3 - access to VoiceMail (one SPA3 - up to 8 access).
INTIPA - board for VoIP.
TNLO - converter for E1 (4 wire to optic).

If you have no experience - I cannot explain why you have problem with broadcast (may be you need just to restart broadcast, may be audit must be done...).
"I want to know that how a call is processed(Routed ) by the CPU whenever a user dial an internal extesion & a PSTN number IN DETAILS" - you need to have training (f.e. basic course) or read system doc (call distribution, numbers convertion, discriminators, COS ....) - becouse this is very global question.

we have not yet created forum boards for 'complete novices'. We assume you have some very basic knowledge of your system management tools like 4760/Omnivista.

The VPM35 you refer to earlier is the CPU for the voicemail system. It runs a seperate Linux OS from the main system CPU. It also runs the voicemail application.

Broadcast feature is found under SYSTEM> Broadcast > yes/no.
