MAO Data Recovery on Faulty R5.0Ux Hard Disk

Post by kzaman69 »

Dear Friends,

I would like to know is there any way we can recover MAO data from a faulty HD of R5.0Ux in case we don't have backup data.

From the forum, there are descriptions on recovering MAO data for Linux but unfortunately not on UNIX.

Appreciate the assistance.

hi...

R studio is a good software to try to recover data....all you need is the directory /usr4/backup/IMMED and usr4/backup/OPS

if R studio doesnt see your hd then you can not do much about it.....although i had a similar case with crashed hd and i recoverd data i need it by putting the hd in the freezer....:P

Depends on the type of HD fault.
Anyway, try to load this CPU with BOOTP from BOOTNET package, proceed to "specific installation", mount HD (or any partition you need) and ftp files from /usr4/BACKUP (if this directory is readable) to PC.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Commens to first answer - you need to repair /usr4/BACKUP/DAY (or DAY-?, WEEK-? or MONTH-?).
IMMED (99%) will empty. OPS - not intresting. OPS files present in database backup.
