VoIP sniffers - UA protocol

I use some sniffers for looking at VoIP traffic, and can easily decode the regular H.323 and SIP stuff, but I was wondering if anyone has an extension or sniffer programme that would decode the Alcatel UA protocol.

UA protocol.. You mean.. Digital ?

yes, UA = Alcatel digital signaling protocol.

I understand they have taken the protocol and wrapped it into UP UDP packets for VoIP.

From looking at the initial registration and signaling, it looks very much like H.323, but it appears to have some proprietary extensions.

Hi everybody
I use "ethereal" for that purpose.Started from version 0.7.Use latest - 0.10.9.Find it quite good.Runs on Windows and Linux.
On Alcatel's BPWS there is a plugin(dissector) for UAUDP Protocol for "ethereal" in Tech.communication/VoIP tools

Installs easy.
But I never checked this plugin - there was no need yet.

Hi everbody,
I used the plugin with "ethereal", but it will not interpret the whole UA protocol.
In my case I made a trace between Appliance Server and MGD. So I saw the "Keep Alive" message.
But I think it is useful when you will interpret the communication between Callserver and an IP Phone.

I use Ethereal, but I'm not familiar with Alcatel's "BPWS".

Could you please elaborate ?
