Single Sign On ICS 6.1 with Windows 7 Clients, no NTLM V2 support

Post by nowi »

Hi,

since ICS Rel 6.1 does not support NTLM V2, does anybody know what you have to do on a Windows 2008 based Domain Controller to re-enable NTLM V1?

Customer has Windows 7 64bit Clients. Anyone knows if ALU is going to support NTLM V2 in near future?

Big thx,

Why don't use LDAP integration instead?

From Internet:
NTLMv1 is not supported anymore in Windows Server 2008. Only NTLMv2 and higher is supported in Windows Server 2008. What you saw was right.

We all know, or should know that NTLMv1 is not encrypted, and therefore very insecure, that is also the reason that is not supported in Windows Server 2008.

Hmm...but LDAP is downstream authentication...so user has to enter credentials in MyIC user interface....but anyway...it is an alternative.

Sure...but you know that you (or the local IT hotline...and no, no one reads the IT newsletters ;-) get a lot of questions when something suddenly works different than before...btw..found an MS Knowledge Base document that gives some information on re-enabling NTLM V1...http://support.microsoft.com/kb/147706
