creating new stack switches

Hi guys, my mind is a bit rusty

Please confirm what needs to be done if I have 2 brand new OS6850 switches and I install Stack cable between the two switches, what steps to take to ensure they run in stack mode ?

Below what I think are the correct steps?

Connect stack cables

1.) Startup switch 1
2.) Connect via console
3.) stack set slot 1 saved-slot 1 reload
4.) Y
5.) Wait for switch to start and then shutdown
6.) Start second switch
7.) Console to switch
8.) stack set slot 1 saved-slot 2 reload
9.) Y
10.) wait for switch to start, confirm number two on switch and shutdown.
11.) Start first stack switch, not second one.
12.) Wait few seconds and start second switch
13.) copy working certified
14.) flash-syncro

your are correct. Just be sure to me in the same major relase, it is better to limit possible risk.

In general, if those devices are "out-of-the-box" you can just stack them and they'll assign slot IDs etc themselves on first startup automatically.
