GD Signaling Backup

Post by lam »

Has anyone tried with R6.0 GD Signaling Backup function?
I have configured it according to manual, however, the resuced GD just doesn't answer the call from the resucer GD.

Our resucer GD uses T1-CCS to call the resuced GD which should answer the call using an APA4 board. I have tapped into the analog line to the APA board and verified that the rescuing call was indeed made after the resuced GD lost its ip connection.

Haven't used it myself yet, but if the rescuer is making a call via T1CCS link, you should be able to run the t3 trace to see what the layer3 messages are. :)

We have a solution~

Apparently, you need to input the phone number of the trunk line (the backup call number without the trunk prefix) at the rescued GD. You can find it at root account-> mgconfig -> Backup Menu.

This management step is missing from the pbx manual or training material.

How is the GD signaling link backup working ?

I'm about to set it up in my network, but it took a bit of reading to realize that the ACT14 chassis is not supported as a rescuer or rescued device.
