Software loading issue

Post by selectt »

I have a spare CS and am trying to create various HDs with sw backup.

I have booted the CS up and press ctrl B then I then boot from ethernet.

Pc installer starts after the relevant drop down boxes have been amended. The software download starts its process.
Files download ok up to stage2.img the system then slows down and then reboots again. If i leave it cycles with the command BATMODE testing constantly.

I have replaced the HD and the same symptoms appear.

In default my DIP swith settings are set to 1 and 4 on, controling slot setup.

My docs say if i set 2,3 and 4 this will allow me to access the grubboot ETHER command, no joy when i try that ?

any help ?

May be you try to load CS-2 but in PC Installer choose "Alize"?

Have not got another CS spare at present, just ordered one. Using a standard CS and choosing Alize in the PC installer setup.

Some questions - for CS - DIP swith settings are set to 1 not enough?
Next one - about HDD - this is clean HDD or from another OXE?
For new disk - I never press ctrl B then I then boot from ethernet. - downloading will start automatically.

When disk with good SW - start without telephony. Login ander root and make grubboot ETHER.
If SW from another type CPU - connect HDD to PC via USB-IDE adapter and delete all partitions from HDD.

Thanks for your info trying a new brand new HD now..
Ref the dip switch setting they should 1 and 4 on for a normal installation and just 1 on for grubroot ETHER ?

dip 1 - for normal operation
dip 1 and 4 - if CS in controller position and must monitor the activity of an optional external batteries rack.
So as I understand for SW loading no difference in position of switch 4.

Which SW version you are trying to load? Looks like HD has nothing to do because when installing full version initrd.img and stage2.img loaded into RAM from PC and then control goes to a certain point in RAM.
I would check RAM. It could be the problem - not enough RAM.
