lol, i believe he means when the connection keeps alive when by some reason he suddenly leaves the connection (a modem disconnection for example).
In oxo you can't unless you leave the connection quiet for about 10minutes. Then the connection is released.

Hey.

There is an entry in "System miscellaneous - Memory read/write - Timer labels" called PM5ftpidle and PM5ppIdle.

I think the first is for ftp connections and the second for connections with modem etc.

The normal timer is 30min and can be changed in "dez." mode.

I haven't tried this yet but i think this is the entry you are looking for.

Please write back if you tried it.

This is a well known OXO bug. When for some reason the connetion between PM5 and swich is cut, you cannot log back fo 30min to 1h. I think that this incident triggers a timer which has a value between 30 min and 1h (I don't know exactly - but after an hour you can log back in without restart) and when this timer elapses you can log back in.
I think this was orrected in OMC (from Rel 5.0 on). I've been unexpectedly been disconected with OMC, but I was able to logg back in without problems.
Unfortunateley there isn't any solution for PM5. You can either wait an hour or restart the PCX.
Hope that helps.

In the realy old versions of the OXO the timer was set to 5 minutes. Problem was that, if you use the WBM it timed out because there was no activity at the PM5 for all the time you where working in the WBM.

So Alcatel increased the timer to 30 minutes and now we are f*cked if we have an unexpected error and loose the connection ;-)

With OMC you can have multiple logons, because OMC uses HTTPS protocol instead of FTP in PM5. OMC supports releases from 1.1 of OXO.

Think you still need a version 5 to use the multiple login...
New OMC switches to old FTP and does not change the way the 1.x to 4.x work with FTP
