iPhone connectivity via 4G & VPN

Post by knightrider »

Hi,

Does anyone know if iPhone with IP Desktop Softphone will work via 4G & VPN?

We have VPN logs showing the app is trying to connect to the OXE but the OXE is not responding. Picture of log output attached. 10.211.222.30 is the OXE.

Thanks
KR

Have you tried on a PC via VPN to discard the VPN itself?

Yes. That seems to work fine. The iPhone connects to the VPN with some kind of VPN client app, then he launches the softphone app and it continually tries to connect. The customers network guys gave us the log file and are telling us that the OXE is not responding :? :?

The interesting thing is that the iPhone cannot connect to their VPN with 3G. It only connects with 4G. That in itself sounds odd to me.

Yeah...doesn't make much sense neither to me...I would say that OXE is probably answering but can't reach the other party. Maybe a routing configuration on the VPN itself.

OK, well I have asked them to give me the ip@ of the gateway that us used by the iphone when it is on VPN. Then i will see if OXE can ping it.
