Outgoing Caller ID

Post by justinf4 »

I'm having a bit of an issue with the outbound caller id setup in OXO r10.1. The behavior I'm wanting is as follows.
Subscriber with no alternate CLIP - Display unmodified installation number
Subscriber with alternate CLIP - Display alternate CLIP.

Problem I'm having is, if I set the Installation number up properly with no alternate CLIP the subscribers without an alternate CLIP show the first 6 digits of the Installation Number with their internal extension number as the last 4 digits. Installation number for example would be 555-444-1111 and subscriber internal extension number is 3000. The outbound caller ID shows 555-444-3000. This is not a proper DID number for this system.

If I set the alternate CLIP in the Installation Numbers page, the Subscriber's alternate CLIP is not displayed.
I tried setting an alternate CLIP in on the external lines->List of Accesses but again it ignores the Subscribers alternate CLIP.

Hi

I would do the following, for example (numbers don't have relation to your numbering plan):

Company main number: xxx-yyy-5000
Extension numbers: 2000-2099

If you configure installation number in numbering --> installation numbers as xxx-yyy and no configuration in alternative CLIP/COLP number in extension details, when #2000 makes an external call, the caller number sent is xxx-yyy-2000.
It depends on what you want to send as caller number, it will depend your configuration.
If you want to send always xxx-yyy-5000 you can keep as blank installation number, alternative CLIP/COLP number in extension details and you configure alternative system CLIP as xxx-yyy-5000.
If you want to send specific CLIP of some extensions you can do the following: installation number as xxx-yyy, alternative system CLIP as blank and alternative CLIP/COLP number in extension details as a number, for example, extension 2001 CLIP as 5001. This way when #2001 makes an external call the caller number sent is xxx-yyy-5001. For extensions you want to send the main number you configure alternative CLIP/COLP number in extension details as 5000.

Best regards.

Thanks enio for your insightful teaching;
I have 2 oxo Pbxs linked together with voip trunk: Pbx 1 is having isdn e1, everything is working fine except for a caller id problem when users in Pbx 2 make external calls through the e1 of Pbx 1. It shows the pilot number when users from pbx2 ( remote oxo) calls through the e1 of Pbx 1, instead of the did assigned to remote users. No problem when the local users of pbx1 call through the e1.can you please advice on the additional configuration required
