Using a read / unread database for this forum

This forum is for misc discussions that have nothing to do with Alcatel-Lucent.

Using a read / unread database for this forum

Post by Eliott_DUP »

Hello Frank & Co.,

what do you think about the idea to use another read / unread system.

For the moment all new postings are visible until a logout only.

I prefer, the messages stay "new" until I say "mark as read" or
I have read them. I use this for our motorcycle forum and it works well.

Sometimes I have no time to read all new topics immediately
so it would be helpful to save them as unread for the next login.

There a different MODs for Phpbb supporting this feature.

Hey Eliott,

I've been caught out too. I used to check just a few messages, planning to check the others later, and then I used to find all the flags disappear. Now I check all of them too quickly

You've got my vote dude :D

I got the same issue.

I was planning to upgrade the forum system later in a couple of weeks, but I guess I have to do it sooner.

I will work on it tonight. Wish me luck, because it's going to be a big time mess to upgrade..
