SFP Uplink Licence upgrade procedure

Hi ,

I have to upgrade the uplink licence on the OS 6450 - 48 . Can someone please post any upgrade procedure , as I tried by the licence manager on the webview, but was unsuccessful.

Which License? For 10Gig?

Go to:
https://service.esd.alcatel-lucent.com/ ... ice/OS6450
Enter Activation Code (you received that by email or as a Paper Card)
Enter Serial Number and MAC that you see at "show Chassis"

Save the resulting file and copy it to your switch
if i remember correctly use
license apply file /flash/myLicenseFile.txt

You can also create a license file containing several keys.

View the license file with:
(here license.dat is in /flash )

Hello to everyone. I have searched of the forum but with no luck. I want to know what is the duration of the 10G uplink license and if is there any way to know if my 6450-P48 has or not the license activated.

the license never expired - beside the demo license after 15 days.

Hi,

Need your assistance on my License Upgrade problem,

I received an envelope containing the Activation Code for my OS6450, activation code was already applied to the switch but the problem is only one interface was upgraded to 10G, do I need to but a new License for the other interface? Switch Model OS6450-C24
Note: Only interface 1/25 was upgraded

What does "show licence info" tell you?
at 6450 Perf licence "upgrades/enables" both SFP Ports so a 10G SFP should work in 1/25 AND 1/26.
If that is not the case open a Support Case

Hello all, I am having a similar issue with activating a purchased 10G license for an OS6450 stack (2 modules). The specific issue I'm having is that when I try to apply the license file, the switch rejects it with an error message saying "error: no applicable license file found".... However, I've double checked everything from my end. I obtained the license file from Alcatel, successfully ftp the file to the switch into /flash/working, and everything is there. It should be a valid license, but the switch is acting like it's not a valid license.

Before I contact support, I was wanting to see if anybody here has run into this issue before and if it's something I'm perhaps overlooking? All help is appreciated, and I can get specific information for anything you require.

in a stack you have to load the file into the master with the lic for all devices.
I have seen it very often: please doublecheck that within your textfile (created with notepad or other simple editor) only the lic-string is written. You can put in the file all licenses line per line. At the end of the line no space only Enter.
create a new file and try it again and again ... it will work.
have you used the correct mac and serial (show chassis) for activating ?
