IBS Handover MG

Post by Maulwurf »

Is it possible to have handover with IBS from MG to other MG?
I have 3 MG with IBS. MG connected via fiber LAN.
OXE is R11 only with IBS Stations.

No handover between IBS's connected to different MG's possible. It was discussed before but I couldn't find this thread.
Handover only works between:
- ACT's connected via INTOF
- MG's connected via HSL (Main and peripheral shelves).
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Roaming must be possible, right? Do I need Licence for Roaming?
I have ACTIS. Example with 50 Mobiles. Actually i have:
Central Area: 50 DECT User. 0 for outgoing Roaming.
MG: DECT 5 user. 0 incoming Roaming.

Must i have in MG also 50 DECT? Do I need outgoing/incoming Roaming license?

In OXE you use "roaming" in a networked context, i.e. if you have an ABC-network and DECT users on all nodes.
If you have only one PABX then there is no need for "roaming" licensies.

But there are some restrictions with IBSes connected to fifferent MG's. Check this thread "System not available on DECT 400"

Thanks again Alex. Now I am understanding.
I think i have problem with overlapping. Now I will check if i can connect all IBSfrom MG to the Central Gateway.
I hope theres a cable between buildings. If not I have no chance or did you have an idea to solve this?

That's the only solution if you have overlapping coverage of IBS's connected to different MGs.

IBS will work across at least 2klm of copper twisted pair cable, you can also locally power the IBS Base Stations if they are a very long way away from the main GD.
