0274 DTMF receiver release error

Post by janc »

Hi Guys,

Do someone have the idea what causes this incident 0274 "DTMF receiver release error" to pop-up in the OXE logs?
I've already read the manuals and no article shows the cause of this incident. also i've read some forums regarding this incident but I did not see any related forums that answers my question.

Appreciate all your answers :)

Use the incinfo'rce Luke!
(1)demo10> incinfo GEA 274

Decompressing /tmpd/incid_GEA.txt

INCIDENT NUMBER: 274
Network indicator: Alcatel 4400
OBJECT CLASS: Dhs3x_node
EVENT TYPE: ProcessingErrorAlarm (10)
PROBABLE CAUSE: Unknown (0)
SEVERITY: Warning

"DTMF receiver release error"
"Releasing DTMF receiver error"
"When the system takes a DTMF receiver, the time-out N6 is launched"
"(normal value 2mn).At the end of the time-out, if the station numbering is"
"not finished, the DTMF receiver is released by the system and this incident"
"is edited (the time-out is not launched when a Q23 station is in decimal end"
"to end signalling on the line, the DTMF receiver is continuously mobilized)."
"Release of the DTMF receiver."
"no operator action required";
Wasn't that easy?
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your reply, but my Question was.. What causes this Incident to appear? Or can you explain a scenario where in this incident happens?

I know how to use incinfo but this incident keeps on popping-up.

Scenario could be very simple.
Analog extension: Ok I pickup a handset and just dial a number on my nice push-button phone.
CPU: Good boy, I connect a DTMF receiver so I will get all digits from you and I route your call.
Analog extension: Z-z-z-z (falls asleep while dialling or just does not remember the number it is supposed to dial. Anyway, it does not go on-hook)
CPU: FFFUUUUUU!!!! I waited for 2 minutes and I am going to cut-off DTMF receiver because it is common equipment and it aint't no good at all to waste it on a subscriber who can't even dial properly in time. Maybe, someone needs it urgently!
