show 802.1x users does not show hostname

Post by hung3r »

Hi guys,

I've implemented 802.1x Port Authentication on our OS 6400 Switches. We are using Computer ceritifactes to authenticate, all is working fine but: with the "show 802.1x users" command I do not see the DNS Name of the host.
For example, the host foobar.coneso.com connectedto Port 1/17 looks like that:
Slot MAC Port Classification User
Port Address State Policy Name
-----+-----------------+---------------+-------------------+--------------------
01/17 00:22:4d:84:c5:88 Authenticated Basic-Auth Svr host/.conteso.com

When the host cannot authenticate (for example due to missing computer certificates) it shows me the FQDN of the client and not only .conteso.com.
Any Idea how see the clients FQDN with the "show 802.1x users" command when its successfully authenticated?

Warm Regards

Malte

Problem solved:
I had to unchecked the "Enable Identity Privacy" in the Wired 802.1X Profile.

Now I see the FQDN, great! :)
