I've been working at this system now for around 5 months. No, I'm not certified, but I'm going to go to training. The problem is that I need the information now.
So here's the set up. There are two buildings in my organization. In one I have a chassis with an SLI8 analog board and with the help of some of the av crew here I've been able to program one of the ports to hook up to an overhead paging system through a relay and an amp. This is working fine. Dial the extension and the paging system kicks in. In my other building a have a 1U chassis with a GD-3, a LANX16 and an APA4. I know I can't use the APA to do the same thing in the second building, but since I've been reading the docs it looks like I can use Barge-in as a kind of paging system. My questions are:
1. Can I Barge-in on all of the lines at the same time or is it a one line deal?
2 Is there anywhere I can find a straight forward, step-by-step how to? I've already looked at the phone COS and it looks like Barge-in is enabled for the entity that the organization uses by default. Then I looked at translators>suffixes and it seems like I should be able to either co-opt one or create one.
The other alternative is to buy an SLI8 board for the other chassis which isn't cheap and which I'd like to avoid if at all possible.

Read Sys doc-->User services-->Mastered conference-->Announcement
However you need master conference license which is not cheap either.
Other way to integrate a paging system si by SIP trunk. You still need licenses and paging system must support this.

Thanks, I knew that there had to be a way, I was just looking in the wrong part of the docs. Now I just have to find out if its cheaper to buy the license or to buy the analog board.

under mgr
go down to application /go down you can see paging system, i have one wich was working fine it's ascom and work under network schema (for central site the area is around 800ha and 7 pabx) , now i stop it because of gsm wich offer a real mobility (cost zero in intrafloat call)

hi, another option may be to use the GD3. if the GD3 is fitted with an AFU daughter board then you can use the audio out (pins 4+5) on the audo socket. you set a directory number to it in the shelf/board settings then you can just dial that number to page. you will of course need to get your av guys to connect an external amp and speaker but it should be no problem for them.
