Occasionally one-way audio with IP trunk between two nodes

Post by jpissot »

My customer has 2 nodes with OXE R10 J1.401.40.C (crystral with CPU6)

There is an IP Trunk between the 2 nodes.

Occasionally (approximately once a week) , the customer has problem with the internal calls between the 2 nodes:
During a communication, there are "whites", "one-way audio".

To solve the problem, we restart the INTIP2 of the node 1 and the INTIP3 of the node 2.
Sometimes, the reboot of one card suffices, sometiwes we must reboot the2 cards.

I have already changed the INTIP cards. We have check the WAN link when the problem occurs: it's correct.

A ticket is created on Service Support Alcatel, they are always trying to analyses tcpdump, mtracer traces, ...

Thanks for your help.

Run "voip assessment tool" so-called "the Aviso tool" it's basically a call steering application, could run on old laptop.
You take two or more phones or 4068 softphones and run test for 7 days a 24 hours, then you will see full info.

Also - what does the ip tickets say, when during this - it's one card failure (so you see IP of this card)? any incident in logs?
check - calls with the lowest MOS.

When you write "two or more phones ", UA phones are possible? because there are no ipphone on the tow nodes.

Thanks

IF the synchro is bad on the T2/E1 (T2 operator) of one node, this may explain the one way audio intermittenly?

The fault disepears with the reset of the two intip.

Nope - digital (TDM) sync - could explain some dect related issues, or modem/fax, but no itip comm.
At least - one two ipphones could rule out the network issues. Also what does ipticket say?
Any chance on ip assessment check ? (the AVISO tool) just to be sure that - there is no network issue?
Most sites with R10 run CPU7 or appliance or CPU-2 so i'm just curious if it's not related to some traffic peek, and CPU6 not handling the calls?
Any way - if it's the lattest patch - must wait for ALU to respond with some bugfix.
