license file on another server

Post by LEVA1989 »

Hello.

We have OmniVista 8770 installed more than 2 month.
Couple days ago we installed on this server USB-Modem (For internet connection).
After this we have ALERT:license file on another server
Can anyone help?

Well it seems you have installed Omnivista in another server before. They check to see if you have more than one instance of OV8770 running with the same license file.

If you have installed before and now the old server is turned off, don't worry it will not be a problem. But if it's turned on, one of the two instances must be off.

Thank you joao.carlos for your reply.

There is no any other server.

I think that this error occurred because of USB-Modem. (I don't know exactly)

Well, this error usually happens when the license was used sometime before.

If there is no other server, probably within more two days the warning will be gone.

Hi!
I have the same issue. My server is about to stop in 8 days.

I found the issue when i get back from vacation, and there were 11 days. I had another 8770 server instances on another machines, but i think there is only one instance running, but this server is still displays this error message.
My 8770 version is 8770.5.1.16.01, and it is running as a virtual machine, so i made a snapshot from this machine, so i can "go back in time", if it stops.

How can i get rid of this issue, because i think it is not eliminating? Is there a way to identify where is the "another server"? Any log or something?

only one instance should running as stated ; shutdown one of them and perform a global synch and all will be back to normal in the next check

Thanks!

I am in a relatively new virtual environment, with several VMs, and there are 2 VMs which we use regularly. One is a file sharing machine, and the other is the 8770 server.
But we ran into several trouble while we get the final 8770 machine. There was a contract between my company and the ALE partner. (I am an "end user", i am responsible for the PBX. My daily task is managing users and so on... daily opration, and a lot more)
So, regarding the contract, we installed the "latest" 8770 back in dec., 2023. But the first 2-3-4...x attempt was not succeeded for various reasons. And there are VMs on the system, which are do nothing. :) Just have 8770 instances.
I had a 2 weeks vacation, and during this time my colleagues try to restart the 8770 server, because it stops responding. And i think, they restart a lot of other machines, and the issue happened.

Now it is not shows the error message, so i hope it is in good condition!

I think my problem solved. Thanks again!
