Centralized ACTIS DB

Post by cavagnaro »

Ok,
I have looked a little bit this app, and have noted that it uses ODBC to connect to it's Access DB.
I tried to make one Centralized Db but no success, it always connect to the local one.
Has anybody achieved something like this or any idea how to do it?
Thanks

Myself and the other engineer in our office contacted Alcatel and requested help with this so we could both work on the same project. After multiply request we have still recieved no replies.

 after a long a time a response! Cool! Well after I saw more closely how Actis works with his powerfull Access Database File :? I can say that if it doesn't lock tables during an operation then the sharing must be a very hard task. Imagine two watching and editing same customer, a mess can happen on that DB.
I believe they should release a MS SQL or any other DB (MySQL even!) available option. More job for them sure, better administration for us? of course! a must!

Sorry I just saw that topic, I could have tell you a little while ago that you cannot share a DB.
As cavagnaro said, as soon as you open Actis, it locks the database (you can see it in the /program files/actis/database folder).

BUT you can exchange configuration files once you are done.
