Registration of IP phones

Post by kisanbhai »

One of my client had OXE with duplicated Applicance server. some of the IP users used to logout in the evening and login next morning. The problem I faced is that if due to any reason, the system is given bascul command, we found the Loggedout phones are already logged in with old status. We have observed that the IP data is not replicated on dual server.

Any solution?

I have no experience with IP phones and duplicated CPUs. Did you use the mastercopy twncpu command before the bascul ? To do a duplication and get them synchronized before changover I allways

1: Login to the Standby CPU and shutdown the standby CPU with -i -r and stop the boot just before the runtel application.
2: Then use mastercopy twincpu. Use the Ethernet option in the menu. Answer YES to options including "run telephone application on completion" The mastercopy could take up to 30 minutes.
3: On completion Make sure that the telephone application is up and going. If not use runtel
4: Use the twin command to check the status of the CPUs . If your logged into the Standby CPU the opposing CPU should show as its twin. All options and transports should be operative
5: Use the bascul command to swap the CPUs over.
6: Use the twin command again to check they are sawpped over correctly on completion.

Your maileage may vary with IP handsets........
