CAC SIP-SIP

Post by jayman »

Hi, I'm a newbie to OmniPCX, and I'm just trying to understand SIP to SIP CAC.

I'm not clear on the restriction of 16 pairs of accesses under the Virtual Access for SIP and that impact to the number of Trunk Groups and number of IP Domains.
i.e If I have a pair of accesses for each SIP trunk group and a trunk group for each SIP set/IP Domain, does this mean I would be limited to 16 domains ??
Perhaps I'm way off track here, so appreciate any advice.

The background is if we have 30 sites connected over a IP WAN, with just 10 IP handsets at each site that all register to a central CS. Can I put each site in its own IP Domain and then implement CAC SIP-SIP to restrict each site to 5 concurrent calls (based on WAN bandwidth)?? Or will the "16 pairs of accesses" restrict this ?

Appreciate any advice or direction. Thanks
When a SIP trunk group is created, a pair of accesses is
automatically created.
As of R7,0 up to 16 pairs of accesses can be configured
(6 before). Accesses are always configured in pairs. A
pair of accesses can support up to 60 simultaneous
calls, i.e. a maximum of 960 simultaneous calls for 16
pairs of accesses. This limit only applies to calls
between SIP terminals and standard sets in the PCX
(except if CAC SIP-SIP is used ; in this case SIP-SIP
communications are also taken into account).
