oxe startup failure

Post by dallas101 »

Can someone explain me why when i start up the system for the first time the GD boards they dont take ip immediately from the dhp server?
GD board it self has the ip's but when i starting all the system together in mgr shows that ip's is not configured..Also when i disable dhp server the GD board doesn't accept static ip....

after fiew shut downs the system starts up normally with out making any changes!!! Why this happens? :?

Hi. Your post is confuse. First you said that the GD don't get the IP and then you said that the GD has the ip configure. You can have static configuration or dynamic configuration (using DHCP).
If you can't configure the IP is because: you don't know how to or that GD is configure as a GA (using the internal DIP switch).
Sometimes, when the GD don't find the CS it stays stand-by for a while until it reboots for a next try. So you have to wait a few minutes before GD is up.
Open a terminal session in the GD and check how it works. There you will notice important information to understand the behavior. Regards.

hello thank you for your reply!

The first thing that i done it was that....i opened the terminal just in the GD boards...both of them ...they where trying to find DHCP server in several ports and they could not...

To understand the behavior i isolated the CS and the GD board to one empty cabinet...i opened first just the GD and started normally with no problems and no warnings! And an ip configured...(this was strange)then i maked shutdown...when i start them together GD board make the same...in mgr then showed that GD has no ip....also i waited long time to synchronize but the did not...

Then i put all the boards together and after some shutdowns the system started normally ....this happened to me twice and i did not changed anything in the configuration to solve this matter..

am i doing something wrong or is something else?

Regards
