Hi guys,
I have a requirement for a customer, he wants to send SMS when some urgent VIP calls are in queue and not answered. Idea will be something like a software to invoque a DLL and then the DLL will connect to a server and order to send a SMS. I have the concept and was easy, but now our GSM providers had the great idea to remove the sms mail facility, so i can't use 12345@company.com to send a SMS as used to.
So now, I need something to do the job. I think that as I can do the job manually from my PC with my Sony Ericsson or Nokia cells there must be some API around to do the job, or maybe a gsm box with some already API built. Have searched and couldn't find something easy to use. Some people asks to build my own hardware and so some ASM software. I really don't have that long to do it. I need something to buy and make it work in 2 weeks as much. Do you know some hardware solution available and tested?
Thanks!

There is one possibility with Cycos.
You need Outlook/Exchange integration with Cycos which in turn has a connection to a GSM modem.
When you send a specific email with outlook (to sms), the server will detect and forward it to Cycos, which in trun will treat it and send it in the appropiate form, sms, fax, etc....
I never saw it working, but it was described to me like that. A specific conector is needed in Outlook.
I know that there also some GSM boxes that can bypass text messages from ISDN to GSM, do not know which.

Find gnokii complied for win32 it's not just for Nokia phones but for some other too.
It will be here i think: http://opensource.contentbakery.fi/gnokii/Win32/
It does the job very well.
If you got the GSMGateway with RS232c there is 99.9% chance that your Gate has SMS sender option.
Another thing: this is another customer that whould benefit from GSM card in OXE.
Card for routing calls with GSM, plus smsing for "various tasks" like alerts etc...
