convert Win7 old machine with Omnivista 8770 to VM

hello,

i'm on a pb with an old windows 7 machine that began to be slow and buggy.
this machine have the Omnivista 8770 system installed ...

i try to convert it in a VM with Disk2vhd utility.
everthing was OK except the Oracle Database service that doesnt start with an 221 error.

may be i have to stop the Oracle Database before the convertion into VM ?

Well, you could check oracle logs to understand what is causing this error.
But I would use rehosting procedure in your case, there was an ALU-E TC or info ont that, but basically it is like that:
- create 8770 backup on physical server
- create VM with Win7 from scratch
- partition all disks in VM as in the running system
- name of VM's PC should be the same as physical server
- install exactly the same version of 8770
- restore DB in VM
Be careful of directory manager's password on running system - you will need to properly restore DB
