Advantages of IP Touch phones over other producers of SIP phones connected to OXE

Post by tomekandos »

Could anyone explain me, in simple words, advantages of IP Touch phones over other producers of SIP phones connected to OXE?
What I lose? What features won't be available?

As of now, SIP is still not better than NOE Protocol over IP.
There is no reason to switch to sip that I could think of.
SIP Does not handle multiline, MLA, etc.. Nor call center options.

All I can say is that NOW is old, and SIP is getting better. But not there yet.
The plan is to phase out NOE. Until then, you can keep it.

My take would be the user name/phone book in on place (over NOE) instead of individual solutions like xml over SD card for DECT conference phones, or LDAP server configuration for Poly Soundstation DUO. The IP Touch phones nicely display local city: NNNN or Japan: NNN from entries of the short dial.
