Analog lines

Hello every one .
I need to know if there is any way to know if an a phone is connected to an analog line and is working fine on an OXE PBX . because if an analog extension is configured on an analog board SLI and you call that number it will ring normally . How to make sure if that extension number is actually connected to an analog phone or not.
Please help if there is any idea

as I know, there is no way to know it.

go to the basics,, go to the end side and use a cable tracer and try to know where its terminated.
