Hello,
The software archive you downloaded from Myportal contains a nested directory, in which there are actual software files, including software.lsm file.
This structure is not understood by omnivista. To fix it, please make sure the software files are in the root of the archive.

Re: OmniVista2500 - is this possible?
Actually, if you switch ports are configured to do either 802.1x authentication, or classification ( AKA Access Guardian), you will be able to see IP address of connected devices.
Another option is to enable Device Profiling (you will need AOS8 switches for that)

Re: Change Stellar Express Group Number
When changing group number for existing cluster, you should experience short connectivity loss. After a while, your cluster should be available again, with a new group number. At that point, every new factory AP (or AP from you cluster following factory reset) will form a new cluster with default gr...

Re: SSH root access
What you have created in Express GUI is not a root password, but rather a root password seed - it's used by ALE tech support to generate actual root password.
By design, only ALE tech support can login as root, using the password seed, generated by a customer.

Re: can not save configuration
Do:
reload from working no rollback-timeout
After switch fully comes up, do:
write memory flash-synchro

Re: AP1201 cluster and the DHCP service
Network services are not backed up today in express architecture. Which means that if AP with DHCP service is down ( can be any AP, not just PVM), there will be no automatic backup. What you can do instead is to run the DHCP service for the same VLAN on two APs, and use different IP ranges that do n...

Re: Captive portal configuration
To delete SSID and other things configured via expert configuration, you need to go to device configuration under templates.
In general try to avoid using the expert configuration screens, this is deprecated in favor of new SSID application.

Re: Broadcast ARP
Hi,
The name is unfortunate; it should have been named smth like "ARP optimization" or "Proxying ARP replies".
Here is what manual says:
Broadcast ARP: If enabled, AP will reply to client’s ARP request instead of forwarding.
