CPUe and CoCPU batteries

Hi
What are the procedure of changing the batteries ?
I see in the manual it says to replace the batteries of CPUe and CoCPU every 2 years, but it does not state how to do it.

Im a bit skeptical to just pull out the cpu card an remove the battery off the board, as i assume all settings will be lost?

What about downtime of the system?

You can do 1 CPU At the time if you have 2 CPUs.
Mostlikely it's for time keeping in the BIOS
