Transffering a call originated from an analog trunk

Post by j.kariuki »

Hi,
When i originate a call from the attendant set using an analog trunk (in an OXO) and try to transfer it immediately after the called party answers, it does not go on hold but the extension digits adds themselves in front of the called number until 'IN CONVERSATION' appears. Anyone with an idea how i can make the call go on hold without waiting for 'IN CONVERSATION'?

You have to use the end of dialing table.

Hi J.,

End of dialing table does not work for every kind of outgoing call.
It will work for local calls if your national numbering plan is known and well applied (also known as closed numbering). In most European countries it has 10 digits and is set up by default in OXO.
International calls are in so called open numbering as the number of digits to achieve a call are country dependant and, of course, unknown.
An ever working way is to use a line key to make a second call (the first one is automatically put on hold) and then transfer it (this will be very boring for the operator if he (she) has to carry out a lot of calls).
Hope this will help.

Hi there

You need to reduce the follow timers to 3000 ms;

Off-Hook simul. closed Numbers.
Off-Hook simul. closed Numbers DEC (set).
Off-Hook simul. closed Numbers MF (set).
Off-Hook simul. behind PCX.

These timers are at OMC --> External Lines --> Protocols --> Analog trunks 1 NDDI --> Modify --> Timers Part 1.

We always reduce this timers here in Brazil because we usually don't have polarity reversal at the trunk. After the 3000 ms the system allows to put on hold or transfer the call.
