Can a suffix be added to record calls?

Post by tjm0852 »

Can I create a suffix that will allow any system user to record a call conversation?

I know that feature is available on a 4035 set, but I need to add for other users.

When I try to build a suffix the only thing close to a record feature is the malicious call feature.

Is that what I would use or?

Thanks

You need a prefix (not a suffix 8-) )for conversation recording. But as I remember this prefix works only for digital set (and you must have key with this prefix - "programmed" with digits=prefix number).

Thanks was not sure if I needed a prfix or a suffix.

I created a new prefix but unfortunately I do not see a parameter for recording or conversation record when building the new prefix. Lots of other parameters but nothing regarding recording. Is there something else I need to do or another name for the parameter I am not seeing.

Is there any documentation I could refer to regarding this feature?

I also need to know how I can enable this feature for extensions (Campus Security for example) who do not have voicemail boxes associated with their extensions which we wish to record on.

Many thanks in advance!

The Prefix is a "Local Feature" called Conversation Recording.
We don't see things the way they are; we see things the way we are!

Great, many thanks! Seems to be working, now I need to do this for a set without VM. Or at least on a set with VM for the sole purpose of conversation recording. Seems like I need a new COS that does not allow for CFNA or CFB or Overflow to VM. I will post up what I needed to do so hopefully it helps someone else out in the future.

Thanks again!

So I have an extension with VM but no forwarding to it, that is what I need so far. The problem is when testing on a busy condition on that line internal callers get the prompt "You may leave a VM message for the person you have called by dialing 8." I would prefer that they get a busy signal, I can not seem to find where this features is and delete it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

For caller you need to disable (in phone feature COS) suffix "Voice mail message deposit".

When I do that it disables all callers from being able to leave VM for all other users. I would like this feature to stay for all other users but be unavailable for people calling just a few specific extensions.
I have a new COS for the users that I need to be able to record, but I only want VM to be available for conversation recording, not for people to be able to leave them messages when the set is busy.
Thanks
