Hi All,
I'm looking to clarify some information about our phone system.
We have an OmniPCX - the main board is a PowerCPU (VoIP16) - ANV No. 3EH7308AKJD
We have about 80 digital and 30 analogue lines and, due to some cabling failures around the site, have added 30 IP licenses over the last 18 months or so.
We rely a lot on our support company to manage the system remotely for us but we can do some basic config and management ourselves. When we ordered our last batch of 10 ip licenses our re-seller told us that AL are pulling support for this unit and that after the end of April we would not be able to buy any more ip licenses.
Is this true? I'm sitting on a quote for 10 IP licenses which we don't need right now 'just in case' we need to expand in the next year or so.
They have suggesting upgrading to omnipcx connect but I can't afford that at the moment.
Any advice gratefully received!

Maybe for your PBX version, but not for the pbx itself. Do you know which version you have?

Re: OmniPCX End of Life?
Thanks for the reply, is that the software version? If so, we are on 3EH70008AEAA 3.008
If not, I have the management console and can get more information if needed.
Our support company has stated:
"I have checked the current Omni solution and we can load SIP licences on to the current system until the end of April when the configuration becomes locked."
They are suggesting that we can keep the chassis, ditch most of the cards and go full IP with the CONNECT system. However our current hardware is now end of life and we won't be able to purchase any new licenses.
I can't find any info on the Alcatel website to independently verify this.

If you dont upgrade to Connect, you will really loose the capacity of adding more license and will not be able to upgrade yours now.
But i'm not sure if it's on April.
The suggestion is to upgrade always.
Actually nowadays there os already a restriction of adding licenses to systems which are o. The actual release minus 2.
Example, OXO is today on R10.
So if your system is R7 or below you can't add licenses unless you upgrade.
The difference will be that on Connect you will loose the licenses you have now if you don't upgrade.
That's what's i've heard.
