Hi all,
Ive got this problem too and opened an eSR.
The actual status is: treatment in progress

It seems that the processor on the PowerCPU is too fast so that there will be timing problems......

Hi

There is a difference between pwCPU and the old CPUs. As we can see in the manuals, in the pins of the pwCPU there's no description about pin #2 (DSR). For the oldest there is, DSR that we connect at the DB9 pin #4 (DTR).
I don't think ALU made a mistake about the pwCPU, but there can be a problem with OMC.

Regards.

TC1541: OMC Local V24 connection issue on some PowerCPU
Problem description
Connectivity issues have been reported with OMC local V24 connection on some PowerCPU's.
When the problem occurs, following error message is displayed on OMC : " 777. The connection attempt
failed because the modem or (other connecting device) on the remote computer is out of order…"
This issue is due to a DTR signal random level on some PowerCPU's.
2 Solution
The issue can be fixed with a modification of the V24 cable described in the Technical Documentation
a) Standard cable (technical documentation)
RJ45 SUB D9 on PC
1 7 RTS
3 3 TXD
5 5 GND
6 2 RXD
8 8 CTS
2 4 DTR
7 6 DSR
b) Modified cable
Disconnect the DTR and DSR signals on the SUB-D9 connector and loop pin 4 & 6 :
RJ45 SUB-D9 on PC
1 7 RTS
3 3 TXD
5 5 GND
6 2 RXD
8 8 CTS
2 ∫∫ 4 DTR
7 ∫∫ 6 DSR
Note : the modified cable is compatible with all CPUs (CPU-1 to CPU-4 and CPUe-1/2) and all
PowerCPU's.
3 PowerCPU enhancement
A hardware modification is applied on the PowerCPU's with reference : 3EH73084 AKJD 08.
These boards were delivered from the factory since the following dates :
- August 10th 2011 for PowerCPU with serial number ZSR 011 222xxxx (*)
- August 29th 2011 for PowerCPU with serial number ACC 011 241xxxx (*)
(*) ABC 011 222 xxxx
