Two phones on one line

Hi everyone!
I have a question concerning the Alcatel 4220-System.
When the system has been installed some years ago, some of our rooms have been equipped with two phone-sockets - on one line.
So in these rooms, I can choose in wich socket I want to plug in my phone, but I can't plug in two phones in the two sockets at the same time. If I do so, the second phone won't go past the boot-screen.
Now some of the two-socket-room-guys asked me, if there's a way, then can plug in two phones and that these two phones would work on this one line and act on the same phonenumber... My first answer was "No! This won't work.", as I described the symptoms earlyer in this posting.
But, just in case, I'd like to ask you as the experts: Is there any way to acomplish this task without installing a second phone-line into these rooms?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Martin
P.S.: When I'm talking about phones, I always mean the phones from the Reflexes or 40xx-series.
